And bluntly they made some bizarre choices:

Also, the gospel according to John was obviously written by someone who had access to serious psychedelics. That's why you never heard them reading that gospel in church.

A thoughtful and careful read of the bible leads one to several conclusions.

One is that God as represented in the Old Testament is scary, vengeful, jealous, and insanely murderous. His body count in that book is in the tens of millions. He torments faithful followers (re: The Book of Job) on idle and sociopathic bets with Satan.

Also, stories are copy-pasted from one part to another without any considerations of coherency or consistency. And speaking of consistency, as just one example, in the book of Kings Ahaziah ascended to the throne at the age of 22, while in the book of Chronicles he did so at the age of 42. If you believe that the bible is the unerring word of God and is all literally true, you have some serious mental gymnastics to go through to make that all work.

The history of the 'left' and the 'right' is an interesting. It rose from the French Revolution. Also notable is that the Democratic Party and Republican Party actually flip flopped in the 1800's after the Civil War. The 'Left' had been the Conservative Party up until then.

In this crazy political season this email would be good to share;

I decided a little religion might be appropriate so here is a short Bible study.

Remember what Jesus said:
'Goats on the left, sheep on the right' (Matthew
25:33).

Jesus also told Peter that if
he wanted to catch fish do it from the right side of the boat. They did and filled the boat with fish.

John  21:6 (NIV) ... He
said, "Throw your net on the right side of the boat and you will find some."
When they did, they were unable to haul the net in because of the large number of fish."

Origin of Left & Right...I
have often wondered why it is that Conservatives are called the right" and Liberals are called the "left".

By chance I stumbled upon this
verse in the Bible: Ecclesiastes 10:2 (NIV) - "The heart of the wise inclines to the right, but the heart of the fool to the left."

Thus sayeth the Lord.
Amen.

It surely can't get any simpler
than that.
