Re: Liz Cheney considers run for president after Republican primary defeat

For the near future this actually frees her up to vote in the House to build what could be more of an 'Independent' record. She's putting together the PAC and will draw the pre-Trump Republicans which actually had policies that they ran on instead of nothing but obstruction.

If she runs in '24 likely she'll run as a Centrist Independent which just might be very appealing to a whole lot of people. On the other hand, if Biden keeps having weeks like last week he's building a strong coalition among the factions of the Dems as well as the Independents and the fruits of his policies will give the Dems a whole lot to run on.

But simultaneously the impacts of climate change are getting more and more pronounced in this Country as well as the Globe. It will cut into the Conservative message globally. With the Rio Grande going dry, Utah dry, Colorado in mega trouble with the Colorado River which of course only adds to California's ongoing drought/water issues there's a whole lot of voters who will be demanding a president who can deliver action. Action on climate change has not been something the Rep Party has been interested in. But a Rep powerhouse like Cheney who runs as an Independent just might be able to change that paradigm.

Liz Cheney considers run for president after Republican primary defeat

The Republican congresswoman Liz Cheney has announced she is thinking of a run for the White House in an all-out effort to prevent Donald Trump from winning another term as US president.

Cheney decisively lost her Republican primary race on Tuesday night and will lose her seat in the US Congress.

The Trump-backed challenger Harriet Hageman beat Cheney by almost 40 points, after Wyoming voters took revenge on Cheney for voting to impeach Trump and for focusing on her role on the January 6 House select committee investigating his possible role in fomenting the insurrection at the US Capitol by his supporters on 6 January 2021, in a vain attempt to stay in office.

Cheney was asked on NBC’s Today show on Wednesday morning whether she was thinking of running for president. She did not respond to the question directly but, when pressed a second time as to whether she was considering it, she admitted she was.

“It’s something I’m thinking about,” she said.

The previous night she said she would “do whatever it takes to keep Donald Trump out of the Oval Office”.
