Per CNN:

The House Ways and Means Committee now has six years of Donald Trump’s federal tax returns, ending a yearslong pursuit by Democrats to dig into one of the former president’s most closely guarded personal details.

The Treasury Department has complied with last week’s court order to hand over the documents, a spokesperson from the Treasury Department confirmed to CNN on Wednesday.

The Supreme Court declined last week to intervene after courts said the House had power to request the returns from the IRS.

Didn't you hear?

The US Military is going to arrest all Democratic politicians and hold them in barges at Gitmo, awaiting trial and execution by firing squad.

Democratic children will be rounded up and kept at FEMA camps in abandoned Wal-marts, while Republican children will all be awarded a pet unicorn.

All people with any non-European blood will be automatically considered slaves and unclaimed property. After a special 48-hour period starting December 1st you can claim any such individual as your personal property. Any unclaimed slaves after this period will be seized by the federal government and sold to the highest bidder.

Agree with you David and Jim. I should know better than to try to get something out of Ken to explain what he means by posting the out of context quote.

I’m sure you’re going to have us believe that George Washington said this.
Most scholars say he did not…it is made up.
I can only imagine what right wing hack website you found this on.

But since you like it - then I’m sure you will have to agree with the rest of it that it CERTAINLY applies, directly, to the case of government requiring a woman to remain pregnant when and if she chooses not to be. Big gubmint being bad and all that. Right?

To argue that we could function without government is really some sort of childish fantasy. It is basically a "defund the police" position taken to its absurd conclusion. You can make an argument that government, even rather limited self-government of the form we have here, is a necessary evil. But it is still necessary.

The reality is that if we abolished government many people, including most of us here, would die unpleasantly in the medium to long term. In the longer term the survivors of such a deranged experiment would reinvent government to survive amongst the ruins of our civilization.

Ok, so what would you have instead? What would it be called? That quote is powerful and sounds almighty, but what does it really mean...to you?
Sounds like a warnimg to me and that it requires balance.

Can you be more specific? Is it just the Dems or Republicans too? If they are all sleaze, what kind of government do you want? Well a no sleaze government would be nice, but probably not possible, as greed and power is what they seek.

Ken, mirror back to ya. Well most certainly, we should all look in the mirror.
Even a fair number of Republicans are starting to reject the conspiracy theories and back away from the, "has been Trump" years.
And the Dems don't have to stick with Biden to have even a better leader.
Ken, answer to the Republican sleaze links.

Don't answer that!
Fellow posters we have been graced with Chitta's appearance after a long hiatus. He does this, then disappears. He's a mystery but I know who he is.
Chitta when you use the words, virtue signaling, which is over used, and actually isn't used that much at all, except in certain circles that like to use cliches, aren't you doing the same thing? Aren't you virtual signaling to other posters that you are more virtueous?
Fellow posters you really won't get anything out of him by asking any serious questions. He uses the same phrases and word groups from past posts. Nothing original, only vacueous and inane non thoughts. Gee, I kind of like that. It sounds like him.

So, Chitta, what laws have the Rep's passed that reflected your own beliefs?

If all you've got is whataboutism, then you've already lost the debate. It is just sad and pathetic, really.

Of course the Democratic party is opposed to racism, their policies reflect that, their platform reflects that.
Of course the Democratic party acknowledges science which is in consensus that climate change has a strong basis in mankind's impacts, mostly through the use of fossil fuels so of course technology to help offset any worsening is promoted and supported by the Democratic party.

Education and health care are uppermost in the minds of our policy makers. Science & math work hand in hand with not just the opportunities a college education brings but also for people who choose to make a living off the trades. History and English classes teach not just great communication skills but tell us how we got to where we are now and ask us to learn from our mistakes rather than repeat them.

How silly of me, I got it ALL WRONG. Soo obvious that the democrat party has NOT been pushing anti-racism training, a complete move away from petrol use, etc. Guess I need access to your special list of cherry picked opinion pieces, and a roll of tin foil.

QAnon has taught not to cite facts but to spew opinions, not to be curious but to be opinionated. Seems to have worked.
