they obviously need more indoor pool complexes. I know that seems glib, however that's how one benefit of the proposed Methow Aquatic Center is being sold to tax payers.
So the Friends of the pool have this proposed mega complex with a large carbon foot print in energy consumption for the heating 3 pools and heating the mega building, carbon footprint rich constrution materials and fossil fuel transportation to and from the pools from all over the county.
Its almost as if the proponents don't understand that the climate is changing and taxpayer money will be required for future critical needs at a time when people may have less income due to increasing climate impacts.
I guess putting your head in the sand, or a heated pool, is a comfort in the face of denial.
